OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Range

OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk.1

OGX Norishing Coconut Milk.2

Firstly and the thing that made me go out and buy the shampoo and conditioner again when I ran out, something which I never ever do with hair care, the smell. Its like bounty in a bottle, super sweet and summery. Ok yes its a little plastic-y but it reminds me of holidays every time I get in the shower, which makes me smile. Whats better than that? A shampoo that washes your hair, makes your bathroom smell like the bounty factory and you’ll smile every time you use. It’s a win win really.

But no one wants to smell like a tropical princess and have fizz bomb hair, luckily this stuff actually works too. I have bleach-blonde-beach-bum hair, which I have grown to love but all the dye over the last X-number of years does mean that it’s not in the best condition ever and I suffer quite badly from breakage and split ends as well as the fact it can get quite dry. This range has coconut milk to nourish, whipped eggs to add protein and therefore strength, and finally coconut oils for hydration. It is also sulphate free, which is great as they strip you hair of natural oils. Sounds perfect right?

The shampoo ( £6.99 for 385ml), is thicker than others, I find that some sulphate free shampoo’s don’t foam up enough. No such problem here although its not bubbly foam its a little like whisk egg whites, which would make sense really.

The condition (£6.99 for 385ml), is again quite thick, which for a conditioner I really like. Normally with high-street conditioners I towel dry my hair first and then condition as I find they can be quite watery and work more effectively on drier hair. However, that doesn’t really work with this as its too thick to spread around on dry hair. But it is very moisturising.

The anti-breakage serum ( £6.99 for 118ml), this is what due me too the line originally, as I really want to grow my hair but with all the breakage and fall out it never seems to really happen. I have to say that I’ve been in the sun, the sea and swimming pools for a couple of weeks so it may not have been the fairest test but I am already starting to see a bit of difference when I shower. I never brush my hair as I have ringlets and if I brush them they turn to fizz so I only comb through my hair in the shower and I’ve definitely seen a lot less fall out than I was seeing before.

My only grump about the product is that the gorgeous smell doesn’t stay for very long, even using the oil on dry hair it still only lingers for a couple of hours.

Next I’d really like to try the split end mender but at £21.50 is quite a lot and it’s hard to find in the UK.

Barry M Loud Mouth Extreme Lip Colour

Think OCC Lip Tars but on a budget and with a high gloss finish. The first one I brought was Tease, a bright sexy red, very french. They are pretty tricky to apply as a little goes a really long way, it is possible to use the plastic nozzle but I find a small lip brush works a lot better for cleaner lines. Tease only needs one layer but I find that Chatterbox and Gossip both need a couple but don’t go over board as that can make them a little patchy. The wear for a couple of hours and fade nicely, perfect for a night out rather than day time.

Gossip is a lovely bright raspberry pink colour, although not too bright which is nice and looks brilliant with a tan as well as make your teeth look whiter.

Chatterbox has to be my least favourite of my purchases, mainly because the colour just doesn’t really appeal its a classic barbie pink colour.  I also find the consistency is not as great as the other two. Even with just one coat its quite patchy and you really have to push it in to your lips to get even coat.

They are £3.99 but Superdrug has a Buy one get one half price on at the moment. I might have to pop back to pick up Diva, a sultry plum red totally on trend right now.

Golden Holiday Makeup

Holiday makeupHoliday close upClose up holiday make upHoliday Swatches

Being in the sun and therefore getting lots of vitamin D, a good colour and drinking lots of water, holidays are always the best skin days of the year. During the day it was so hot that we were in an out of the water all day. I’m not a swimming-around-not-getting-hair-wet-sunglasses-still-on kind of girl, I’m a how-long-can-I-swim-underwater kinda person.  I’d love to be that elegant and sophisticated but I get distracted. So the only thing I wear 9-5 is L’Oréal False Lash Telescopic Waterproof

In the evenings we would go out most nights so I wanted a little coverage, my go to summer combo is a mix of the Bourjois BB Bronzing Cream and the Healthy Mix foundation in 55. I find this is the best way to get the perfect colour. At the start of the holiday I was 1:1 and by the end 2:1. Its not high coverage, its natural and glowy. Everyone likes to sparkle on holiday, the thing I like best about my face is my high cheek bones so I like to emphasize them by using Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze.

For my eyes I mostly continued to channel the golden goddess vibe, I know no prizes for originality here. For a base I used Rimmel Scandal Eyes in Bulletproof Beige all over the lid and along my bottom lash line. I limit myself to one pallet on holidays and this time The Naked 2 got to come along with me, I used Half Baked all over with Chopper on the outer corner and Bootycall in the inner corner to brighten. I didn’t want to add any harshness to the look by adding a liner so to add a little definition I tight lined just my upper water line with the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Black. Usually I’d have used a pencil but I forgot to bring one and it actually worked quite well and stayed put so I might have to try it again sometime.

The lips, I didn’t anything too bright or heavy Tanya Burr’s Lip-gloss in Let’s Travel the World seemed like the obvious choice. Perfect name, perfect consistency and perfect red orange colour summer colour.

Finally perfume my boyfriend’s favourite Dolce & Gabbana the one Desire. Its beautiful for the evenings heavy but still feminine and super super sexy. Its sex appeal in a bottle, its basically everything I’m not but hey a girl can dream.

What are your holiday Favorites?

‘Shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist’

Today I was in of a psychiatrist, I dropped my iPhone down the loo, and now I feel as if one of legs has been chopped off. It’s sad isn’t it how much we rely on technology isn’t it. In order to get over my loss I figured a little shopping was in order. 4

3 I’m off to Egypt in a couple of weeks, so to prep my skin before I go the Dirty Works – Glow Girl Salt Scrubas I like to exfoliate every day for the week before I go. This makes sure the tan I get will last for a long as possible. I also have a need not to be the palest on the beach, so a new tanning mitt was in order, the best one I’ve found for an even finish is the Velvotan – Tanning Mitt.

Eye linerFor the summer I like to add a little more colour into my quite neutral make-up, and eye liners are a) a relatively simple and risk free way to do it and b) really easy to pack. These two GOSH – Velvet Touch Eye LinersI’m going to do a look soon on easy way to incorporate colour for the faint hearted.
And last but not least Jill Mansell’s new book The Unpredictable Consequences of Loveas I’ve just finished The Fault in Our stars in two days flat. Although I am tempted to keep this one until I go on Holiday, but that probably won’t happen.

On Wednesday We Wear Pink!

This post comes from my love of Mean Girls and Lip products, could there really be better inspiration for post let’s be honest. Three things about a range of different options for wearing pink today.

Wearing Pink

Clockwise from the top

Rimmel Apocalips – Apocaliptic

Long lasting, bright beyond bright but quite likely to get on your teeth

Maybelline Super Stay 14 hr – Ultimate Blush

Love the smell, again long wearing, a slightly more mature pink.

Maybelline Baby Lips – Cherry Me

Very very sheer wash of colour, the scent if a little too plastic-fantastic for me, a good option for the more faint hearted among us.

MAC Creme Sheen – Speed Dial

A Barbie pink with slightly blue undertones, small gold shimmer flecks, perfect fun summer colour.

Revlon Lip Butter – Cupcake

Too pale for me, lovely on darker skin tones, great for making teeth look whiter

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet -Pink Pong

Beautiful if you’re feeling brave, non-drying matt finish, stunning for a night out

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stick – Lovesick

Lovely minty smell, very similar colour to above but sheer so better for casual day wear, fool-proof no fuss design

Revlon Lip Butter – Lollipop

Again super similar to Pink Pong but glossy finish and slightly cooler, build able, colour does tend to run a little.

I hope you enjoyed this brief over view. Any pinks you particularly love for this summer?

Waitrose Pure

Edited blog picMy friends at uni call me ‘Princess Fia’ as a bit of a joke, mainly because I’m truly rubbish with money and rather partial to shopping in Waitrose regardless of the fact I’m a student. But last time I was in there I happened upon their own brand skin-care range Waitrose Pure – Natural Care for Sensitive Skin. I have never had any trouble with my skin being sensitive whatsoever but at between £1.99 and £2.99 and 4 for the price of 3 I could resist popping them in my trolley.

Eye Gel – £2.99 – 25ml

I have never really had any particular issues with my under eyes, I think they are just quite standard, although some times a little grey but I’m a student and we all love drinking and dancing to 4am five nights a week so let’s be honest what did i expect. This gel, however, stings like nobodies business and I do not have sensitive skin at all so I dread to think what it would be like for those that do.

Facial Cleansing Wipes – £2.99 – 25 wipes

Now we all know that we shouldn’t be using wipes etc etc but sometime the need for a quick wipe occurs, usually around 2am drunk and sleepy, and yes they aren’t as good for your skin as double cleansing yah yah yah but lets face it ‘ain’t no one got time for that s**** sister’ and they are a darn sight better than sleeping caked in that muck. These do exactly what they say on the tin but my god to they smell grim like public loo cleaner. Yuk!!

Facial Oil – £2.99 – 30ml

Boy is this stuff the business, vitamin E and sweet almond oil. I love the packaging as well, glass bottle with a dropper thing. It suggested using once a week but I actually use it like a serum both morning and night before my moisturiser and it works wonders. Definite repurchase but it will last me yolks as you only need a couple of drops.

Beauty Balm – £2.99 – 50ml

This Balm is the Bomb!! I love it. Its got shea butter and Coconut oil in it, so I’m a little gutted its fragrance free as I adore both scents but that is truly the only thing I would change about the product. It works brilliantly on my lips, elbows and knees before fake tanning and on my knuckles which can some times dry out. You get shed loads for your money. In the tub its solid and melts when it come into contact with your skin. I can not rave about this enough and all for a mere THREE pounds!!! Bloody marvellous I tell you.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of the range out.
